What you can do

If you or someone near you has a cardiac arrest or heart attack, time is of the essence. It is therefore vital to know what to do beforehand.

Here are the necessary steps you should take in case of a heart attack:

  • The first thing to do is: Do not panic.
  • Loosen tight clothes and try to relax.
  • If the person's/ your doctor has advised taking any medication in case of a heart attack, immediately take the required medicines.
  • Call an ambulance or emergency medical assistance immediately.
  • Take deep breaths. Deep breathing is known to revitalise the heart and increase blood circulation.
  • If you are calling emergency or walking into a hospital, use the words 'I think I/my friend is having a heart attack'. Do not say 'I have nausea, dizziness, heartburn' etc. This will ensure speedy attention. And time is vital.

While you wait for emergency aid to arrive:

  • If you have access to aspirin, chew or swallow it. Aspirin thins the blood and allows for better circulation.
  • If you/the person is having difficulty breathing, raise the legs up 8 to 12 inches to allow more blood to flow towards the heart.
  • If the victim's heart has stopped beating, then you can attempt this first aid technique: Place the palm of your hand flat on the patient's chest just over the lower part of the sternum (breast bone) and press your hand in a pumping motion once or twice by using the other hand. This may make the heart beat again.
  • Administer alternate artificial respiration with CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) till emergency aid arrives.

Please note: CPR and artificial respiration are first aid techniques that should be learnt from a qualified professional before you attempt to administer it.

· Make sure the patient continues breathing and has a pulse until the ambulance arrives. Keep the patient warm and calm by quietly, but clearly, telling them what has happened.

Remember the key to deal with a cardiac emergency is to stay calm and avoid panic.

Everybody remembers GOD but there is a moment when God remembers you then Human being goes down to the path of Spirituality to understand his or her real purpose in this world.

Spirituality is not a religion

Spiritual Love will guide us back Home. At the end of the journey all that must be left inside the soul is Love. So let no one at any point of time in your life be so powerful that you remove your love for them.
Love is breath. When you see anyone not "breathing"( loving) give them breath. Pure Love is coming from inside yourself, where feelings of peace, kindness, compassion, truth, strength, purity of intent, are all emerged in that expression of love. It is not being attached or trapped into the situation or person, rather, being in your self worth and sovereignty with a person or a situation. Love is the original character of the soul. Character leads you to your destiny. The souls is love, the destiny is love.
